I’m passionate about uncovering viable solutions to complex problems. I help large organizations address longstanding challenges by getting to the core issues. By refining decision-making and boosting efficiency with generative AI, machine learning, optimization, and simulation, I drive transformative outcomes. I identify gaps in data collection and workflows, guiding necessary improvements.
-
I lead technical teams, manage resources, and translate solution architecture and impact to leaders. My recent experience revolves around Army operations and logistics, where I have extensive expertise in data engineering, business intelligence, and data science solutions. I frequently orchestrate a team’s use of programming languages like Python (Spark), R (tidyverse, RStudio), SQL, Typescript, and Java using applications like Foundry (Vantage, Maven, Envision), Databricks, AWS EC2 instances, PowerBI, and Tableau.

Diving into generative AI, I develop and teach courses that equip staff with essential skills. I integrate generative AI into workflows and products, enhancing user experience and solution delivery speed. I design solutions to meet language and security requirements, facilitating the integration of language models for specific domains. Additionally, I ensure that business processes using generative AI adhere to security controls. For example, in government settings, I’ve facilitated the integration of language models trained on military jargon and acronyms and implemented business processes using generative AI that do not feed back into public models.

To unlock data analytic platform potential, I evaluate platforms and tools, integrating them into business processes. Using data platforms breaks down silos, aides in comprehensive solutions, and enables cross-domain collaboration. My experience in crowdsourcing initatives consistently drives collaborative innovation and operational efficiency within organizational security controls. To help with analytic exposure, I’ve done several “Tool Showdowns” on stage where we evaluate software products side-by-side for technical audiences.

My academic journey includes a Master’s in Computer Science focused on Data Science and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor’s in Physics from Illinois Wesleyan University.

I’m proud to be the co-founder and chair of the Analytic Capability Development working group for the Military Operations Research Society (MORS) focusing on manning, training, and equipping analysts.
I’m also a lifetime member of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
